Anniversary

Jonah and I celebrated our 5th anniversary while we were in Vegas for the Shields family reunion. I put Emery to bed and my mom stayed with her while we went out. We thought about seeing a show but tickets were so expensive that we just decided to walk around The Strip and see the sights. We went through a number of the hotels, stopped in Cesar's Palace for a drink and a little food, gambled away $2 each, and had a good time with just the two of us. I'm so blessed to have a husband who loves me and our baby with all his heart, who works hard to provide for us, who makes us laugh, who makes me feel better when I'm having a hard time, who is my best friend, and who is a strong man of God. I couldn't have asked for anyone better.

Food Fun

One of Emery's favorite foods these days is plain yogurt (taking after her grandma and cousins). We let her feed herself one day and despite what it looks like she actually got quite a bit in her mouth! She definitely enjoyed the process and we got quite the kick out of watching her. She went straight to the bath after this, which she was also happy about.

 

Shields Family Reunion

My mom's family had a reunion the first week of June. I was glad that my little family was able to go although Jonah had to leave us early to get back to work. It was a fun trip and so many cousins and aunts and uncles who we hadn't seen in years. I didn't take many pictures because there were so many other people with cameras and I didn't feel like carrying around my camera everywhere when I had a baby to carry already. Rawhide Game

On Memorial day we went to Emery's first baseball game with my family (Josh had free tickets for all of us). Uncle Josh thought it would be fun for Emery to have her very own ticket and she liked it! As we walked in she handed it to the ticket lady to get ripped and then held on to it for a long time.

It was a fun activity even though our team lost.

 

After the game we headed to the Nickell's for BBQ hot dogs. The weather was unusual and we all had to put on sweatshirts for our outdoor picnic. Heather had set up her kid's tents for Emery to play in while we ate. Their backyard felt like a campground with their picnice table, evergreen trees and the tents!

10 Month Wonder

Please forgive me for being behind on my posting, I blame our week long vacation we took last week.

 

Here's what Emery was up to at 10 months:

She has 4 teeth.

She loves playing in the bath but hates getting her hair washed.

She has stood up from the ground without any help 3 times!

She loves for people to hide and then call her so she can find them.

She likes helping with the laundry by putting the clothes into the washer.

She likes the pool (we have a water baby).

I'm not sure why this picture is posting the wrong way, she's not really upside down!

Visiting Friends

On Saturday we drove over to San Andreas to visit our really good friends Caitlin and Jack. We had such a nice visit catching up, relaxing, and eating smores with bacon (really yummy!). On Sunday some of our mutual friends the Starbucks drove down from Calvin Crest to join us.

 Rachel and I were pregnant together when we were working at Calvin Crest. Now here we are with our babies!! Jory was so much fun laughing and smiling at everything.
