Weekend Snow

Last weekend there was a snow storm up here. Of course Jonah and I were in Visalia, as we have been almost all the other times it has snowed up here.  There was still plenty of snow left for us to enjoy but it's just not the same as watching the snowflakes fall and accumulate.

Jonah shoveling the path down from the dinning hall. The accommo team and part of the maintance team spent the entire day getting the paths ready for the Outdoor Ed group coming the next day.

The Reveal

Friday the 16th I had my "20 week" ultrasound and doctors appointment, although I was really 21 weeks.  20 weeks is when you can find out the gender of your baby! Apparently our baby is modest because the ultrasound tech had a bit of trouble getting our little one to cooperate.  We had the tech write down the gender in a card so after the appointment Jonah and I could open the card alone and share the special moment together.

We wanted to share the news with our families in fun ways so Friday we had dinner with Heather and her family and my dad (my mom and Sarah were in PA for a wedding).  We had 5 balloons blown up with either blue or pink confetti in each of them.  They had to pop the balloons and whichever color confetti was in 3 of the balloons was the gender.

We wanted everyone to be included in the reveal so we set up a Google + video chat so that my mom and Sarah in PA and Josh up at camp could be there too.

Once everything was set up we started popping balloons!

It worked out perfectly! The first balloon had pink confetti, the second blue, third blue and fourth pink. That left the last balloon to reveal the secret!

The last balloon popped and sent a shower of PINK hearts flying everywhere!!  It's  a GIRL!!!!!!!

If you'd like to watch the recordings of what happened you can go to Heather's blog and to Sarah's blog to see the videos.

Mom had a gift ready for whichever it was! This was a onesy that we had seen on vacation a couple years ago that she had bought because I thought it was so great.
Friday was also Evan's 7th birthday!!  We had a nice dinner, yummy chocolate molten lava cakes with raspberry sauce, and presents in celebration.

We had to wait until Sunday to share with Jonah's family because everyone was coming into Visalia for our niece, Alanna's, dedication.  We decided to make cake pops for their reveal so Heather and I made them on Saturday.

The pink inside!

Everyone gathered with their pops waiting to bite in.

They're pink!

So here she is our little girl, Emery Jade

This is what we have for her so far. The afghan was knit by my friend Joy, the onesy is from my parents, the glasses and dress are from her parents.
We are so excited!

A Tea Shower

March 3rd I attended my very close friend Jamie's baby shower with Heather and Natalie.  Jamie did most of the planning herself and she did such a good job, everything looked beautiful!

I crocheted this afghan for baby Harlow and it cordinates with a beautiful quilt that Heather made.

All Weather Walking

Rachel (who is also pregnant!) and I have been walking almost every day, no matter the weather.

All bundled up for a walk amoung the snowflakes!
I tried to capture the beautiful scene from my kitchen window but unfortunately snowflakes falling are not easy to photograph.

After another walk Rachel and I went on.  When we left it had been sunny so we were surprised when it snowed quite a bit on us!
