First of Many

Well Thanksgiving has finally come and gone. Michelle and I are thankful to be spending it together as our own family. Of course we are also thankful for our families and we spent time with both this holiday. Since my parents live in Santa Maria that is where we headed on Wednesday. We had a great time since having the Trevino family all in one place at one time is a rare occasion. We stayed up late and had good quality time together and shared memories and told stories and Michelle got to know my family a little better. Then on Thursday we had some great turkey and other food. Then it was time to head home. We got to the Chandler family gathering just in time for a second round of great food and fellowship. What a great celebration it has been!

I Can Ride My Bike With No Handle Bars...

Well I can't really ride with no handle bars but I can ride my bike. At least most of the time... my bike slipped on some gravel today and now I have scraped knees and hands and torn leggings. But as Phillip likes to say things like that prevent cancer so really I did myself a favor by falling.

Phillip fixed up some bikes for us from the bike shop he works at so we've been making good use of them.

A cool tree we found while riding.

The After Party

After the wedding the girls headed back to Mt. View for some quality time...

Me, Amber and Jaime taking pictures on Amber's computer. Here's how they turned out....

Heidi and Phillip

November 8th, 2008
Congratulations Heidi and Phillip

Getting Ready

The big day started off with Natalie leading the girls in Yoga on the dock to get us ready for all that was to come.

The sun was shining and felt so good falling on our faces

Diana and Natalie did Heidi's hair.

Lauren, who works at Taz with Sarah, helped most of us with our makeup.
Getting the dress ready for the bride.

Katie had the honors of be-jeweling Heidi. Their Aunt Christine made the necklace and earings for Heidi and they matched perfectly.

The Day Before

Friday morning we got up, packed and headed up to Calvin Crest. The girls had a 12:30 appointment to get our nails done at Star Nails in Oakhurst so we stopped there on our way.

Heidi and I getting started.

The finished nails. I accidently messed up my nails twice while sitting there drying them. The first time was pretty bad so I asked the lady if she could fix them. She kindly did but the second time wasn't nearly so bad so I didn't bother her again. Diana also had a bit of an accident and had to get hers fixed too.

Natalie and Jonah waiting for the rehearsal to start. It was a lot later then was planned because we were waiting for 3 of the groomsmen to arrive.

Ready to walk down the aisle.

During a conversation "spooning" was mentioned and someone asked what spooning was, we were happy to demonstrate.

Rehearsal dinner at the Tenaya Lodge. It is a fancy place with good food. It was pleasant but a little long.

Napkin folding contest.

Chuck giving the first toast.

Meeting the Girls

Thursday night the other 2 of Heidi's bridesmaids and another friend arrived at her house. All three girls she met while at school in Eucador. I had met one of them, Natalie, once and was looking forward to meeting the other two girls. I went over to the house help tie some more bows and to hang out.

Phillip was pretty proud of his first and only bow

I was the expert and had to show the others how to make them.
Cassie was having difficulties with her one and only bow, Mary and I each made 3 to her one.

Tie Bow or Tae Bo?

Sunday night we went to the Steinman's house for a bow tying party. When we were talking about it while we were still at church that morning everyone thought we were saying "tae bo" instead of "tie bow." We had to clarify ourselves a few times. The next day at aerobics I really did do tae bo!

The Chandler ladies ended up doig the bows for the center aisle since it seemed a bit of a challenge for Gretchen and Heidi.

We were pleased with how well the bows turned out.

Lauren from Tazzaria came over as well to practice Heidi's make-up for the big day and it turned out very nice too.

Stormy Sunrise

We've had interesting weather the past few days. The weekend was warm and humid with sprinkles, rain, and some thunder and lightning. Today was a lot colder and foggy and cloudy all day.

This was Saturday morning when we woke up and looked out the window. I wasn't going to get out of bed because I was warm and cozy but the thought of missing a good picture proved to much to resist.

This was also Saturday morning looking in a different direction. The change has been exciting and we're hoping the rain keeps coming!
