Day Trip

We went on a little adventure up to Sequoia and it was perfect. The weather was so nice, it was beautiful and we all had fun. We ate lunch at a picnic spot and then walked down to the river.

The view from where I sat with Ezra while Jonah and Emery played in the water.

Emery slipped on her first step into the water and soaked her shorts so it was nice to get that out of the way and not worry about keeping her dry.

She loves collecting rocks

Jonah took his shirt off and Emery thought it sounded like a good idea.

Back in dry clothes we drove farther up and stopped at this pretty meadow.

Whenever I see lupine I always think of my mom. I love her a lot and am so thankful for her.

It started getting cloudy and cold so we decided it was time to leave.

Then it started getting really cloudy and really cold. Then the rain came. And boy did it come! It poured on our way down the mountain.

I always love going on adventures with this guy.

July 3rd and 4th

We had our usual festivities for the Fourth of July; fireworks at the Rawhide stadium on the 3rd, swim party at my parent's in the afternoon of the 4th, and fireworks in our cul-de-sac in the pm.

Waiting at the Rawhide game for the fireworks.

It's tradition to get snow cones

Sarah and Josh were visiting.

On the 4th the girls had matching outfits.

The little boys all matched and the big boys all matched. It was hard to get a picture of 3 wiggly babies at dusk so here is the best I got.

Going Home

We were discharged from the hospital Tuesday morning. It was such a relief to be going home. Unfortunately I had developed a spinal headache from the spinal tap I had during my C-section. The anesthesiologist recommended I go home with some pain meds instead of getting a blood patch so that's what we did. The headache got worse and lasted for 4-5 days and I wasn't able to do much besides lay on the couch and feed the baby. My incision and stomach were more sore this time as well. Jonah and Emery both had a cold so Ezra was the only healthy one. We were blessed to have people bring us meals during this time. It was so great when the headache finally was gone but then I had diarrhea for a week. It was a rough couple weeks but Ezra is the sweetest baby and we had so much help from our family and friends that we were able to make it through.

Some of the people had gift for the kids when they brought dinner. One was a new toddler Bible that Emery LOVES. She even showed Ezra some of the pictures.

Our first outing was to the Nickell's house for dinner and the cousins finally got to meet Ezra. The kids had been sick so they had to wait before they could meet him. They were all so sweet holding him and commenting about him.
