Early Present

Jamie had my gift all wrapped and ready for my shower on Saturday and while we were hanging out yesterday neither of us could resist the urge for me to open it! She made these super cute onsies for Emery to wear in her monthly pictures and I love them!

Here is a progression of my belly recently, unfortunately I missed my 32 week picture. Tomorrow I'll be 36 weeks which is only 1 week away from when she's good to come join us outside my belly!!

Woo hoo!

I (Jonah) am pretty excited to say that I have officially designed my very first book cover. I got a call about a month ago from an old friend who was getting a book published and he asked if I was interested. I was a bit hesitant because I wasn't sure if I could do it. Fast forward to today. I was sent a sample to approve and I approved it. Now I get paid on top of some exposure (hopefully). It is pretty exciting. I can't post a picture yet because the book is not out yet but it is getting released soon!

My First Giants Game

Yesterday I got the opportunity to go to my very first Giants game with a couple of friends of mine. My family is a Dodger family so when I played for the Giants in little league, and chose them as my baseball team, my family all but disowned me.  Needless to say, I did not attend any Giants games growing up. This trip however, was worth the wait. The weather was perfect, we had good seats, and the Giants put on a show defeating, of all teams, the Dodgers in an eight to nothing victory. San Francisco also happens to be one of my favorite cities, so it was fun to spend some time there. We walked around and enjoyed it quite a bit.
I have been messing around with photoshop so this is a picture I edited. One of the many strange and artistic pieces to be found around San Francisco.

The Bay Bridge and a rocket. Notice the nice clouds and beautiful blue sky.

Arriving at AT&T Park!
By the time we arrived at the park I was so excited, It was finally happening.

We often looked at this nearby screen to watch replays and cheer, and on occasion boo the ump for a bad call.

We had great seats and showed up early in hopes of catching a fly ball during batting practice. Sporting our gloves, we hung out up front, and although we got close several times, we never caught a ball.

I have cheered for the Giants most of my life, but actually seeing them play, was more fun than I could have imagined. Pictured here, are Matt Cain and Jeremy Affeldt. Matt Cain recently became a sensation for being the 22nd pitcher in MLB history to throw a "Perfect Game."

A great day for a ball game!

Barry Zito throwing a heater, and Pablo "The Panda" Sandoval at 3rd base.

With a score of 8 to 0 favoring the Giants, we had a blast cheering and chanting with thousands of other Giants fans.

Here is a short clip of Ryan Theriot hitting a single in the first inning to start off the 4 runs.

The Rocking Chair

A few months ago my dad told me to think about if there was anything I wanted him to make in preparation for Emery coming. It didn't take me long to decide that I'd like a rocking chair, when I told my dad he seemed a little unsure about it but none the less he told me to find a rocking chair that I liked and plans for it. He had never made one before but I had complete confidence it would turn out perfectly. And it did! I love it! It's beautiful, comfortable, and my dad made it, so it will always be something special to me.

The After Party

Sunday after the wedding we loaded up the remainder of our belongings into my dad's van and our car, cleaned the infirmary, and then we were done at Calvin Crest.  We drove down to my parent's house to join some of my aunts, uncles, and cousins who were staying around until Wednesday. We had fun over the next few days spending time with everyone. Some highlights included picking over 30lbs of blueberries, making and enjoying my cousin Nathan's famous pancakes, sing alongs, and lots of yummy food.

We were sad Wednesday morning when it was time to say goodbye. Hopefully it won't be too long before we see them all again!

Wedding Prep

My sister Sarah was married on June 2nd up at Calvin Crest, I have to wait to post pictures from the actual wedding until she posts them on her blog. So instead here are some of the wedding preparation pictures.

My Aunt Joanna and Mom altered mine and Rachel's bridesmaids dresses and shortened Heather's.

The bride and her bridesmaids after getting our nails done.

On Friday we had a big group of relatives and friends who helped with all of the setting up and getting ready.

I was in charge of making the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages. Brenna and Janelle helped me all afternoon.

Jonah helped rake pine needles at Vespers where the ceremony took place.

We had the rehearsal and then headed up to the back pad for dinner.

After dinner we finished up the flowers and then headed to bed.

Anniversary

On May 31st Jonah and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. The day started out very early with me waking up and not being able to fall back to sleep. Jonah was sweet and got up with me and we decided to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately it wasn't a very interesting sunrise and we didn't get any beautiful pictures but it was still fun to spend the time together.

We hadn't made any big plans but during lunch we decided to go to the Fresno Zoo. It was hot but we had fun and were able to see pretty much all of the animals before it closed at 6:00pm.

After the zoo we went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill on our way back up to camp.  I'm so happy and blessed to be married to my best friend.
