Sleepy Time

Emery always has to put her hands over her blankets no matter how cold it is. Silly girl! We'll have to get her some mittens for when winter comes around.

The Girls

Jamie and I had what will be one of many photoshoots with our little girls on Monday. They are so cute I can hardly handle it!

They held hands a couple of times.

I love this picture! It was right about this time when Emery got happy and Harlow got fussy.

6 Weeks

I've been trying to get this post done since Monday but a certain little girl has had other plans for me! Emery turned 6 weeks on Sunday, what a big girl! She had a check up on Monday and she is growing and doing well. She now weighs 9lbs 13oz (25th percentile), is 22 1/2 inches long (77th percentile), and her head circumference is 14 inches (3rd percentile). It's now official that I gave birth to a squeek toy! Since she was born she has been making a squeeking noise sometimes as she inhales. In the begining she didn't do it too often and we were told it was normal and would quickly go away.  Well it got worse and now when she does it she has a harder time breathing. It happens most often when she eats but will occur at any time.  We looked it up online and felt that she has laryngomalacia (click here to learn about it). When we went to the doctor she confirmed it. It is fairly common among babies but I've never heard a baby sound like her before. So she supposed to grow out of it sometime between now and two years. We're really hoping it's sooner rather than later because it can be pretty frustrating. She has been awake a lot more during the day and been sleeping longer at night, yay! Now we are definately getting real smiles from her and it melts my heart every time. She also has been working her neck muscles a lot and likes to hold her head up for small amounts of time.

Emery's First Vacation

Jonah, Emery, and I were able to spend the week in Pacific Grove in my parent's time share. We had a really nice time and enjoyed the cool weather. Emery had to get some new clothes so she wouldn't be too cold! Here she is ready for our first of many walks.

Emery's first time near the ocean! I tried to get it in the picture but failed.

 

 We thought she looked super cute in these pjs. We were sad because she just barely fit into this outfit so this was the only time she will get to wear it. She's getting so long!

Mom and Dad came on Monday and we went to dinner and then to Ghirardelli's for dessert. Mom and I split this brownie sundae with warm carmel, yum!

Jonah got hot chocolate and got to add his own chocolate squares to his taste.

The Nickell's minus Isaac joined us on Tuesday and we went to the beach and looked at tide pools.

We found this weird flat sluggy thing on this stick!

 

He started curling up! It was gross.

 

 

 Emery's first time on the beach, she slept through it.

On Wednesday Jonah, Emery, and I went to the Aquarium. There was a new jelly fish exhibit in addition to the old one! 

These are upside down jellies!

 

This is a crown jelly and is on display for the first time any where in the world!!



This tank had a bunch of small and colorful jellies that were fun to watch because they collided with each other and into the walls

 Those were most of the highlights from our trip. The rest of the time we spent walking, watching movies, napping, eating, and hanging out as a little family
