Visiting Friends

On Saturday we drove over to San Andreas to visit our really good friends Caitlin and Jack. We had such a nice visit catching up, relaxing, and eating smores with bacon (really yummy!). On Sunday some of our mutual friends the Starbucks drove down from Calvin Crest to join us.

 Rachel and I were pregnant together when we were working at Calvin Crest. Now here we are with our babies!! Jory was so much fun laughing and smiling at everything.

Blueberries For Emery

On Friday we went blueberry picking with my mom and the Nickells. It was the first day the pick your own blueberry fields were open! We've been waiting for this day since we ran out of fresh blueberries last summer.

  Natalie and Evan kept Emery entertained while the rest of us picked.

 

Emery picked a few blueberries too once she was tired of being in her stroller. She wasn't interested in eating them though.

It got pretty hot towards the end of our picking but it wasn't too bad and we were happy to have a good amount of blueberries to hold us over for a while. Mom and I took a special trip over to Jonah's new job at Deer Creek Asphalt (a rock quary in Porterville) where he is a lab tech. It was fun to see and a lot more impressive than I excpeted. Jonah has been enjoying the work he gets to do but not all of the extra hours he is having to work (this is their busy season).

New Sunglasses

Emery had her 9 month doctor's appointment yesterday. She did great and was very brave during her finger prick (no shots this time). She weighs 17lbs 12oz (24th percentile), she's 28 1/2 inches tall (75th percentile), and her head is 17 inches (21st percentile).

 

 

9 Month Wonder

I am amazed that in just 3 short months we will have 1 year old! I can't believe how quickly the time is going by, wasn't she just born?!

 

She loves doing things with her feet (sometimes she even snuggles with them in her sleep!).

She hates getting dressed and her diaper changed.

She always wants to put her hands in our mouths.

Sometimes she sucks her thumb or fingers.

She likes playing in laundry baskets.

Her favorite foods are green beans, squash, pear, and banana.

We can show her how to do simple things and she can copy us. 

She loves balls.

She likes pulling clothes out of drawers.

She is still mostly sweet but does give us attitude sometimes.

She likes baby dolls.

She will walk if we hold her hands.

If we try to set her down so she can stand alone she usually lifts her feet up.

She loves the vacuum, even if it's on.

She still loves peek-a-boo.
