Be Mine?

Jonah and I spent an very nice Valentine's evening at home. Together we made NY steak, scalloped potatoes, and rosemary garlic cheese bisquits. It all turned out delicious, better than eating out in a crowded restaraunt.

For dessert I made truffles and chocolate covered strawberries. YUM!!!

It was very pleasant and we may have started a new Valentine's Day tradition!

Truelove

On Saturday the 13th my family headed down to Torrance to help celebrate the wedding of Katie Cox and Jeremy Truelove. The coxes are long time family friends and Katie was Sarah's good friend when they were little.

Rain, rain, rain

It's been raining.

Here is what has happened...

Thanksgiving morning I ran a 5K with my mom and sisters.

Jonah and I spent Thanksgiving lunch with his siblings and then dinner with my family.

We picked out the Chandler Christmas tree the next day.

And made gingerbread houses.

Sarah and I were in the COS dance show.

We took a couple trips up to Sequoia National Park.

And finally, Monty learned to read.

Don't worry we're still alive, just busy and fighting many colds. Life is settling down after the holidays and we're finally healthy so hopefully some more interesting posts will be coming soon!

O Christmas Tree

We had the day before Thanksgiving off school so we took advantage of it and made a trip up to Calvin Crest. Most of the people we know up there have moved on so we said hello to the Gists and then went on a hike.

Most of the fall leaves were gone already but we found a few trees that still looked beautiful.

Hiking on the Shadow of the Giants.

After our hike we headed down to Sherwood and found our perfect Christmas tree!!

Jonah and Sarah cutting it down.

Getting our tree in the car was a bit tricky but we managed.
Sarah was cozy with the tree on the way home.
That night Jonah and I decorated the tree and house.
The first ornament!

This is our second Christmas since we've been married but since we were living with my parents last year this is the first time we've been able to decorate our own house and have our own tree!

Snugglers

Our kittens have turned out to be quite the pair of snugglers! Whenever they get a chance to sit in our laps they seize the opportunity.
